Timeline

The First Baptist Dallas congregation voted Nov. 1 to approve the recommended plan presented by the church's Planning and Development Committee and proceed with a capital campaign to raise money for the future project.

On May 16, 2010, church members pledged to give more than $115 million to the project over a three-year period, making it the largest church building campaign in modern history. The church officially "broke ground" for the project on July 11, 2010.

Perhaps the biggest step in the pre-construction phase was the implosion of four current buildings, which is took place October 30, 2010.

Construction of the new campus will begin December 2010. The entire project is to be completed, debt-free, by Easter Sunday 2013.

Significant contributions from non-members and friends of the ministry already have been provided as advance support of the project, and anyone interested in this heart-of-Dallas ministry is encouraged to participate by giving to the building fund.
